Can’t wait for this tourney….

First wager:

1.0 Brazil to win it all +450

I’ll be back with some thoughts on the tourney and some additional futures.

Continued success.

1.0 Dutch to win Group A: -188

A bit pricier than I tend to play, but I don’t see he how the Dutch don’t win this group. I know Senegal is everybody’s darling, but I expect the Dutch to cruise through with at least seven, if not the full nine points. Senegal and Ecuador will push them, but I don’t see the Oranje slipping out of the top spot. I’m in the minority, but I don’t think Senegal even makes it out of the group, as I expect Ecuador to advance.

In fact, I expect the Dutch to make a deep run, likely to the semis before falling to Brazil. Assuming they win Group A, they’ll get the runners up in Group B, likely Wales/US/Iran, as England should win that group comfortably. The Dutch should obliterate any of those sides before a likely matchup with Argentina in the quarters. I like their chances there, but it will be a battle.

0.5 Dutch to make semi-final +275
0.5 Ecuador to qualify +140

More to come.

Continued success.

Group B:

0.5 Iran to qualify +400

England are a bit of a mess heading into the tournament, but even they shouldn’t be able to fuck this group up. The US are a dumpster fire and Wales shouldn’t pose much of a threat.

Iran are the second best side in this group IMO and +400 provides great value. This is one of the weaker groups in the tourney and I expect both sides to advance go down immediately in the knockout stage.

Group C:

Argentina should comfortably win this group, but I’m not willing to lay upwards of -200+. Should be a decent battle to qualify between Mexico and Poland, I have strong lean to Mexico. Saudi Arabia won’t qualify, but I think they put up a fight and won’t go pointless.

Group D:

France are a bit of a mess now and I expect them to be a major disappointment, maybe not the disaster of South Africa, but this side is ripe for a huge letdown.

Denmark are a side that’s been wildly underpriced and we are seeing that again heading into this tourney. I fully expect them to take the group down and possibly make a bit of run deeper into the tournament.

If the group had a bit more of a pulse, I don’t think France would even advance. They’ll likely still get second, but get thrashed by Argentina in the knockout phase.

Group E:

Not much to see here from a futures perspective, this should certainly come down to Spain (+100) and Germany (+110) for the group with little resistance from Costa Rica and Japan.

I actually lean Germany, but not at this price. Although I favor Germany I expect Spain to make a deeper run and anticipate this side in the semis, if not the final.

The winner of this group should get a favorable matchup against Croatia/Morocco/Canada, but would get Brazil in the quarters, where I expect the Germans to exit.

Runner up gets Belgium first, but I favor Spain to get past the oft-suspect Belgiums and a much more favorable matchup in the quarters, likely Portugal/Uruguay/Serbia/Swiss.

Group F:

Belgium should run away with this group, but the battle for second should be quite tight, much tighter than the books suggest IMO.

Croatia is a substantial favorite for second, but I don’t see them advancing. I like Morocco quite a bit, they have balanced squad of veterans and young talent with some quality top flight players. At +250 to qualify, I see value there.

I don’t know what to make of Canada, they looked great qualifying, but Concacaf is complete garbage. First World Cup since 1986, where they lost every match and failed to score a single goal. Who knows?

what a pitiful Denmark performance today. Reminds me of an early Nordic game we had last WC and the team just didn't show up for a big L card. Maybe the Swiss.
